Each month we select a member of the FIT4MOM McAllen community who we think deserves some recognition for their hard work, lively spirit, and dedication to FIT4MOM.
This month, we're spotlighting one of our founding mamas, Rebecca Green!

Tell us about who is in your family.
- My husband Jordan and I have a 10 month old son, Everett, who we call “Evy” and our two and half year old puppy, “Tex.”
Where is your hometown?
I was born and raised in McAllen.
What is/was your career?
- After graduating from UTRGV with a degree in broadcast journalism, I moved to Austin to pursue my passion of baking at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. I was living my dream as a pastry chef for a bakery in the heart of downtown Austin, baking cupcakes and cookies all day long! I decided to move back to McAllen to open up my own cookie business, Bake My Day. One day I hope to have a brick and mortar, but for now I’m enjoying staying home with Evy. Nothing beats being able to witness all his first moments.
How long have you been a member of FIT4MOM McAllen, and what has it done for you?
- I joined FIT4MOM in September of 2022 when I was about 4 months postpartum. I craved this sort of routine that got us out of the house and motivated me to be active. I’m very thankful for the community of mamas here that are helping me navigate motherhood.
What is your favorite class exercise?
- I’ve enjoyed running a lot more lately. I’m very excited about our new Strides 360 class and adding more cardio to my weekly routine.
What is something that has surprised you about motherhood?
- The amount of tasks I can handle at one time. Mamas are built differently. We can tackle so much more in a day than I ever thought possible!
What are three of your favorite things?
- Evening walks with my family, iced coffee, & freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.
What is your proudest mommy moment so far?
- Nothing makes my heart sing more than seeing Evy’s face light up when he accomplishes a new milestone such as rolling, crawling, and now cruising!
What advice would you give to a new mother?
- Put yourself out there and find your community of mama friends! We were not meant to get through these days all alone. I rely so heavily on my community for advice, encouragement, & reassurance.
Anything else you'd like to add?
- Join FIT4MOM! You will never regret a workout, but you will regret not starting sooner!
