Tell us about who is in your family.

  • Rene (husband), Mariela (1st baby), Melanie (2nd baby), and Macchi (short for Macchiato... our fur baby).

Where is your hometown?

  • McAllen, TX.

What is/was your career?

  • I used to work for a non-profit organization helping migrant children before deciding to become a full time mom.

How long have you been a member of FIT4MOM McAllen, and what has it done for you?

  • I’ve only been a member for a bit over a month now but it’s already done so much for me physically AND mentally. I was diagnosed with PPD and my doctor recommended working out since I wanted to try other things before medication (nothing against medication, just personal preference). That’s when I found FIT4MOM and from the first week I saw a huge improvement in my mental health. Having 2 under 2 is a blessing but I also need to talk to other grownups lol! It’s so cool being able to fill my mornings with a workout plus being able to include my littles.

What is your favorite class?

  • Stroller Strides.

What is something that has surprised you about motherhood?

  • It made me be more patient than I ever thought I could be. Which really came as a surprise because I’m about the most impatient person I know lol.

What are three of your favorite things?

  • I love Sunday mornings at church with my family, all things coffee, and getting pedicures.

What is your proudest mommy moment so far?

  • I’m able to get both of my girls to go to sleep before 8pm most nights so that I can have some me time.

What advice would you give to a new mother?

  • Don’t compare yourself to other mommas. What might work for some momma might not work for you and that’s okay.
